DEVELOPMENT PLANS FOR MOUNT LUNATE CANCELLED
Published: Novemember 1st, 3609

After roughly a month of protests, the development plans for an amusement park on Mount Lunate have been cancelled. Local residents expressed many concerns that the cancelled amusement park project would have disrupted the local ecosystem if the project continued. Concerns over deforestation and erosion, now quelled, were at the forefront of these detractors' protests. Local residents have expressed overall satisfaction with the outcome. “It's a relief” one hiker said. “I'm glad they know they can't just do whatever they want to our town” another citizen stated. The developers behind this project refused to comment.
At the forefront of these protests and public outcry is Yarvel, a maiden who works with wildlife on the mountain. “Let this serve as a lesson.” Yarvel stated when we asked her how she felt about the situation. Mount Lunate is well known among locals for it's biodiversity and unique terrain. Civilians have rallied not just for the cancellation of the project, but for further legislative protections of the mountain to stop further development attempts. “The cancellation of the amusement park is just one step in the right direction.” An anonymous local protestor stated in an interview, “We need more legal protections to stop these things from happening again.” The protestor continued.
